Being the “Voice of Small Business”, NFIB advocates across the nation both federally and at the state level. As state director, I will be NFIB’s primary champion in the General Assembly and will guide and direct member engagement and political involvement throughout the state. During my tenure as Grassroots Manager at NFIB, it was my duty to keep our hardworking, diverse membership engaged and informed on the issues affecting small businesses in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina. As the Public Affairs and Education Manager, I served the membership and Board of the Georgia Agribusiness Council by assisting the GAC President in managing regulatory and legislative affairs, as well as working to retain and grow membership through outstanding service and outreach on issues important to the industry.As Manager and Brand Ambassador for The Ivy Buckhead, I oversaw internal and external communications, business operations and employee management. I managed a team of over 30 restaurant and bar staff, and implemented employee protocol and process to improve and ensure efficiency across the organization. In my four years there, I created and lead strategic and integrated marketing programs that have transformed and enhanced our brand visibility via social media - owned and traditional channels. The Ivy Buckhead is one of the most widely-recognized and acclaimed restaurant/bars in the South, consistently featured on ‘Best Places’ in Atlanta lists, in a highly competitive area and industry. These efforts have resulted in a 20% gross profit increase in one year, for a multi-million dollar organization. I have also served as registered lobbyist and legislative assistant for the Georgia Beverage Association working directly with executives from Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and other industry leaders to inform marketing and legislative planning. In my role, I tracked relevant legislation and monitored progress through the House and Senate in order to effectively communicate changes, updates, modifications in real-time to respective constituents.
