Supplier Table Engineer

Toledo, Ohio Area

As a Supplier Table Engineer (STE) at the Toledo North Assembly Plant (TNAP), I am responsible for the identification of non-conforming incoming material that would affect Assembly and/or customer satisfaction according to the specifications outlined by the Design Release Engineers. The areas I oversee include the Engine line, Chassis assembly, the Body-in-White (BIW) shop, and the Final assembly lines.I also assist in establishing material clean points from the line-side material, the material handling team, our sequencers, and the suppliers themselves. Once clean points have been established, I work alongside the suppliers and the Plant Supplier Quality team to identify proper corrective actions to remove the potential for future repeat non-conformances.Along with my responsibilities as a STE, I have also successfully graduated the TNAP 24-week Immersion program which requires an array of metrics to be met during the first 6-months of my time working here. Within the program, I have accumulated a savings totaling ~$220,000 from my ideas implemented within the plant and new methods I developed to reduce the amount time in which repeating tasks were performed.

Dec 2018 - Jul 2021

Assembly Process Engineer

Northwood, Ohio

I was responsible for developing the process to ship and distribute over 20,000 automotive fascias and components per day through the work cells that I oversaw. The process development included creating Work Instructions, Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Quality Control Plans for both existing and newly launched programs. Some examples of the newly launched programs that I was responsible for included the S550 Ford Mustang, JL Jeep Wrangler, WK Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the D2LC MCM Chevrolet Cruze. I also led several teams of engineers and production operators pass a total of 10 different production rate verifications. These were required because of new program variation that meant the customer must test the ability of our equipment and production operators to run at the expected cycle time.In working with the current production team, I helped improve Norplas’ area with the highest running volume by 30% over an 8-month time frame by identifying weaknesses with the material handling logistics, program sequence, balance among the work cells, operator workload balance/cycle time, and hardware related issues.Additionally I was required to perform root cause analysis on fascia welders and End-of-Line (EOL) testers by diagnosing all components of the machinery. Examples of these components include PLC’s, proximity sensors, actuators, PLC software, and system applications.
