Worked as a University Fellow with Drs. Michael Schuckers and Lisa Torrey to improve and extend the software used to calculate the Total Hockey Rating (More info on the THoR: http://statsportsconsulting.com/thor/)- Developed a suite of tests to verify that all changes made to the code have no impact on the output of the THoR calculations- Reducing runtime of the code and optimizing for St. Lawrence University's High Performance Computer (HPC). - 99.97% Speedup achieved, reducing runtime from over 8 days to under 5 minutes.- Refactored and extended the code. Using the data already being downloaded, I added the ability to calculate not only THoR, but also Corsi and Fenwick simultaneously (other forms of hockey analytics). This was done with no impact on overall runtime.- Developed a website using the R Shiny Server package to display the latest THoR results on a daily basis- Developed a series of scripts to automate the downloading, preparation, and processing of the data used to calculate THoR. This was done in preparation for eventual automation of the process to update the THoR on a nightly basis.

- I work closely with with Assistant Director of Editorial Services & Social Media, Megan Bernier and a team of seven students to develop an award-winning social media strategy for the St. Lawrence University Office of Communications' Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts (all of which can be found on their respective platforms under the handle @StLawrenceU).- Planned and executed the creation of St. Lawrence's @HereWeGoSaints Instagram account.- Provided consultation to the Office of Residence Life, the Office of Student Life, and the Office of Career Services on their uses of social media. Some of this work has led to the creation of @SLUwire on Twitter, an easy way for students to be engaged with student activities on campus.- The Social Media Team was featured on HigherEdLive's “Admissions Live” webinar in December of 2013 for the success of the @HereWeGoSaints Instagram account, and our work as a team.
