Analysis of Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and Petroleum Hydrocarbons (PHC) F1 & F2-4 from water and soil samples using GC-FID and GC-MS instrumentation

Part of a research team exploring a green path in reducing C14 waste from nuclear plantsRoles included:- Setting up and conducting experiments based on collected data, and collecting samples to be tested- Analyzing data from experiments and drawing conclusions to create a plan forward- Troubleshooting potential experimental issues that arise - Optimizing process for scaling up, including identifying problems associated with large scale - Independently operating with minimal supervision- Working in a zone 3 environment to conduct experiments

• Assisting with and prioritizing multiple projects• Collecting samples and preparing them according to standard operating procedures(SOPs)• Conducting all required tests, extractions, and studies• Accurately recording all experimental data as directed• Complying with all SOPs• Maintaining a vigilant commitment to safety• Ensuring all samples are appropriately disposed of and follow environmentalregulations• Performing lab maintenance activities and inventory as required• Conducting regular equipment calibrations• Providing regular updates to Lab Manager and COO• Creating and implementing QA/QC programs

- Communicating back and forth between contractors and discussing various factors such as costs - Booking and arranging the schedules of the staff members, and assigning them to different on-site projects- Managing/Calculating the payroll of all the employees per week- Forwarding blueprint plans to the director and communicating with them- Filling out and keeping up to date company forms that get sent out to potential contractors
