The Stratigraphic Committee of Pakistan (SCP) is the oldest constituent scientific body of Geological Survey of Pakistan . Its primary objective is to define precisely units (systems, series and stages) of the Chronostratigraphic Chart that, in turn, are the basis for the units (periods, epochs and age) of the Geological Time Scale; thus setting standards for the fundamental scale for expressing the history of the Earth.
