I love The Godfather trilogy, Breaking Bad, and House of Cards. It's not the crime, corruption, or violence that gets me. It's the strategy, innovation, and resourcefulness of the characters. Their ability to plan ahead, create unique solutions to their problems, and find clever ways to overcome unexpected obstacles. Naturally, this means I also like the game of chess.With that being said, I enjoy opportunities that enable me to solve problems and explore my strategic and innovative thinking. I was lucky enough to take on various student leadership roles in college, tackling campus issues and planning student activities, like restoring library hours and organizing the first university event to recognize student journalism. I struck gold when I came across project management and design thinking. Project management gave me an organized structure to reach my goals successfully, while design thinking taught me an empathy-based approach to solving problems with an emphasis on creativity.Today I'm a certified project manager looking for opportunities to develop my skills further and manage more projects.
