I first developed this app “just for me” to manage my 3 horses. After many of my new horse friends asked “if they could use it”, I rewrote the whole app and called it The Equestrian App. I thought that maybe 500 people MIGHT find the app, but over 3,500 people found it in the first six months. This app that began as a hobby, turned into something very personal and rewarding to me. Today there are over 33,000 members with over 35,000 horses in the app globally.After 6 months, I decided that there was something more important here. Not just another business I could create, but a solution that would completely digitize the care and the health of horses globally. Sure, there were a few other horse apps, but nothing that was any good and designed for global usability and scale.I went back to the beginning. I did all the market and industry research, interviewed hundreds of horse owners, created a business plan, choose and designed all the technology that I needed to use, coded the app (android, ios, web), developed the web services and designed the database and released. I’ve sought out and partnered with large equine businesses in the sponsoring of the app too. Today there are over 25,000 members with over 28,000 horses in the app globally.There has never been an app like “The Equestrian” before. From the day-to-day stall management, boarding needs, leasing rules, training plan, veterinarian exams, farrier visits, marketplace and more, this app can manage it all. SOLD to TIBCO Software - Extended Results, a company that I founded, provided consulting services for business intelligence and analytical solutions to Fortune 2000 companies.Extended Results was a first of a kind company that provided highly visual data analytics and dashboards for global leadership teams. I started this company because there was a need for a better visual representation of performance management metrics. We quickly became the go to partner for Microsoft with their performance management and dashboard solutions. I’ve done numerous executive level presentations on behalf of Microsoft in their Technology and Executive Briefing center focused on the subjects of business intelligence, analytics and big data.During our 8 years in business, I created several SASS solutions like PUSHBI, Report Catalog, Product Roadmap, Extended Outlook and Extended Insights that filled many unmet needs within the business intelligence dashboard segment.I grew the company from myself to having employed over 200 people during the 8 years of business prior to being acquired by TIBCO. During that time, I managed and develop an awesome team environment, retained and attracted great analytical talent to the company. Lead our technical vision, keeping our platform and delivery mechanisms on the latest technology. Always kept an understanding of our customers’ needs and core processes we supported. I sought out, developed contracts and sold over $35 million dollars of analytical software services and products.

I was a highly analytical consultant that developed dashboards and reporting to measure sales, profitability, and KPIs. These dashboards and reports comprised the business intelligence used to manage the business day to day and perform analyses to inform investment and growth for customers. Analyzed customer’s business intelligence product configuration & troubleshooting issues with deep analysis of data architecture, modeling, reporting and dashboards. Troubleshooting star schema and snowflake design models with a deep understanding of data warehousing concepts.Worked independently or as a team with minimal supervision to complete tasks and assignments as directed. Coordinating with internal product and hosting teams to ensure timely resolution of customer issues. Contributed to the ever-growing knowledge base articles on SharePoint for team sharing.Assisted and created several business development opportunities for the company. Created scope of work and contracts for agreement between business leaders.

As the CTO, I managed a large technology team in the design, development and deployment of the largest discount real estate brokerages at the time. We development many revolutionary user experiences like Home Value Estimates, Geospatial Home Search and property presentation, Reduced Fee Calculations and Savings, Agent Portals and more.Assisted in the raising $42 million dollars, hired key personnel, formed the technology group to develop the eHome technology platform. We actually started the process to go IPO right before the entire market collapsed. What was eHome? Think Redfin and Zillow, but just too early. :o)

As a Microsoft Consultant, I was a major contributor to the project implementation success. I had to be effective in fostering customer relationships by gathering, analyzing, and documenting customer requirements. I worked with customers in order to deeply understand and define their business and technology needs using Microsoft technologies. I quickly recognized any inconsistency, assumptions and identify critical elements that needed to be surfaced. I used my knowledge of Microsoft technologies to identify and propose the best possible solution for the Customer. I facilitated and accelerate the decision process, considering the customer’s business strategy, drivers, requirements and challenges; whilst bearing in mind the relevant industry trends. While a Microsoft Consultant, I lead the UI and application design, development and deployment of America West Airlines Online Booking and Reservation system. It was the 3rd major airline to go online with a booking system that allowed the consumer to do it themselves. The amazing thing is myself and one other Microsoft consultant designed and built the entire solution for the airline in 6 months.Also, while a Microsoft Consultant, I lead a 5-person team on the complete rewrite of Nordstrom.com within 3 months saving over a million dollars on launch using the Microsoft eCommerce platform. I worked and formed a close relationship with executive leadership at Nordstrom on their requirements and deadlines. I even traveled with Nordstrom executives to the GE training center of excellent to learn about the transformation Nordstrom was going under to go digital.

Extreme Software was the first software company that I created. Being a basketball player in high school, I wrote a basketball stats tracker for my team as we loved our stats but it was all on paper. After I graduated from college and was spending time in airplanes and hotels, I ended up creating Assistant Basketball Coach which was a team statistical management software for high school, college, leagues and pro teams. After becoming the #1 stats package in the United States in 3 years, I added baseball, football, hockey, soccer and volleyball programs too. All where in the top 3 programs used in the United States. I actually created all this software using Microsoft Access which had a runtime you could ship with your database. It was perfect for the time for the amount of data in real-time I was working with.As the internet started becoming a thing in 1995, I rewrote the entire physical diskette/cd software for the internet/web and called it SportsXL.com using Microsoft ASP and SQL Server. It quickly grew to one of the largest amateur sport team web sites for sharing schedules, pictures and statistics. In 1998 the business was acquired/sold by eTeamz which was then acquired by Active Networks that later went IPO.Many other software solutions were created under Extreme Software like Spellaroo (spellchecking in instant messaging), Perfect Journal (think onenote), Auction Explorer (browser addon for searching ebay easily), PayPal Monitor (payment alerts) and numerous others.
