Developed and managed all research and development activities for Monsanto Vegetable Global Seed Technology and Seed Treatments Program. Inspired others to innovate. Add value through Manufacturing Processes. I was hired to build a comprehensive Global Seed Tech R&D team aimed at developing innovative seed technologies for the vegetable seed industry. We started programs in Europe, Asia, and the Americans. Hired and trained people leaders and scientists to lead core disciplines. Collaborated with our various teams to design and build laboratories in the USA, Europe and South American. Our research solutions were focused in five areas: • Imaging Automation Technology - development of imaging tools to sort seeds based on quality parameters- morphological and biochemical • Molecular BioChemistry - quality improvements through modification of gene products• Seed Treatments – Biologicals, microbials, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides• Application Technology – seed pelleting, polymers, and film coat development• Seed Enhancement - seed quality improvements, priming, seed sanitation, upgradingIn addition to overseeing this program, major highlights of this role included: collaborate with technology providers, i.e., universities, private entities, competitors, to license outside technology. That included commercial trailing of the technology, negotiating the contract and terms, and implementing the technology in our organization.
