I am a European Patent Attorney and work at V.O. since 2005, where I am one of the partners. I have vast experience in patent prosecution and strategy, and represented clients in numerous oppositions and appeal cases before the European Patent Office.My technical expertise is in the field of physical chemistry, and more particularly polymer chemistry, surface chemistry, coatings, photochemistry, and nanotechnology. My clients range from medium size enterprises to multinational companies.As a CEIPI tutor, I am also actively engaged in training candidate European patent attorneys. In addition, I am epi Council Member for The Netherlands.Prior to working in the patent field, I performed fundamental research in academic positions. After having finished my studies of molecular sciences at Wageningen University in 1999, I moved to Switzerland for a PhD. I finished my PhD in physical chemistry at the University of Berne in 2003. After having held a postdoc position at the University of Amsterdam, I joined V.O.
