About Timothy Hwang

I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Clinical Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. I also obtained my Masters of Arts in Teaching with a dual certification in General Education and Special Education. I have worked with students on all academic skills and also aid in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans. Previously, I have worked in North Carolina Public Schools as a K-5 Special Education Teacher with students in small groups who were identified as having disabilities in reading, writing, math, and social-emotional disabilities. I also taught in Brooklyn, NY at Achievement First where I primarily served as a 2nd Grade Teacher. Outside my school, I have also been a Manager of School Operations for a summer institute in New York where I directed all behind-the-scenes logistics. I have also taught in the San Diego community and I enjoy tutoring with Reality Changers on a weekly basis. I am strongly passionate about working towards educational equity for all students, anti-bias anti-racist education, and advancing the work of critical educators before me.
