In partnership with the folks at CMAC I am excited to work with institutions to help them think about what the value proposition of their annual giving programs are and how to maximize and shorten the trajectory of donors.

I work with school's across the country to evaluate their annual giving results in order to develop strategies in order to improve outcomes. I also regularly facilitate meetings of annual giving professionals to benchmark their efforts and lead conversations around best practices.

• Created pipeline development strategies to address pipeline management issues. • Manage a small portfolio of major gift prospects in non-academic areas. • Manage non-academic fundraising units (Library, Regional Major Gifts, Arboretum, Marine Discovery Center, Educational Partnerships Office, Athletics, Student Affairs, Parents) in support of campus goals. • Oversee the operation of the Emeriti and Retirees Center.• Led the creation of UC Santa Cruz’s Giving Day producing nearly 50% of all institutional donors in one day and increased total number of alumni donors by 10% in a single year.

• Work with the Finance and Investment Committee of the UC Santa Cruz Foundation to manage investment policies. • Staff the Audit Committee of the UC Santa Cruz Foundation to oversee foundation audit process• Attend all UC Santa Cruz Foundation board and executive committee meetings.

• Led Advancement Services group, which included data Management, information systems, and endowment management. • Built the case to divisional and campus leadership to select a new customer service relationship management system. • Worked with colleagues throughout University Relations and campus to improve processes and data integrity practices. • Led a number of internal committees (web consistency, customer service, pipeline strategy, data analytics, campus volunteers) to improve organizational function.

• Oversaw all operations, strategy and implementation in annual giving, alumni engagement, alumni association, regional programing, reunions, and special events with a focus on opportunities to integrate strategies across functionalities.• Led campus planning and implementation of all 50th anniversary celebration activities which double the number of engaged alumni. • Oversee the management of signature events (Founders Day Dinner, Scholarship Benefit Dinner, and Alumni Weekend) including program design, fundraising and managing volunteer interaction. • Conceived and led the restructuring of the Alumni Association and the Alumni Council to better meet the needs of alumni and campus community including eliminating dues. • Implemented first ever crowdfunding project at UC Santa Cruz. • Implemented best practices across phone, mail and email solicitations including message integration, analysis of outcomes, and testing practices. • Envisioned and created a business development function

• Set and managed departmental budget of $3,000,000.• Oversaw all operations of annual giving activities at Penn State, including all 23 campuses and 45 fundraising unites, to raise more than $22 million each year from more than 150,000 gifts.• Completed Penn State Planned Gift Certificate Program. • Managed staff of 17 professionals, including face to face gift staff, data management staff, a programmer/analyst, phone center staff, project management staff and unit liaisons.• Met with volunteers and donors to assess giving capacity and level of engagement with Penn State. • Managed more than 70 volunteers (Annual Giving Advisory Council, Renaissance Fund Board, Faculty/Staff Campaign Executive Committee) and supported the management of an additional 50 volunteers.• Monitored and coordinated all organized fundraising activities less than $50,000.• Developed, sold and implemented annual giving strategies for 45 fundraising units across 23 campuses and 500,000 alumni including Athletics, Student Affairs, Hershey Medical Center and College, and Dickinson School of Law.• Developed a variety of special giving programs (parent giving, student giving, student philanthropy council, President’s Club, Golden Lion Society, and recent graduate).• Developed new methodology to assess Annual Giving charges across units to equalize the chargeback system.

• Oversaw all operations of annual giving activities at DePaul University to raise as much as $1 million each year from more than 8,000 donors.• Effectively combined annual and special giving office for the first time and managed a staff of 5 professionals.• Developed and implemented university wide annual giving strategies. o Analyzed, developed and implemented standardized annual giving reporting and projection practices. Designed and conducted direct mail and telemarketing campaigns for all annual giving projects. Oversaw implementation of on-campus telemarketing operation. • Developed a variety of special giving programs. o Oversaw operation of President’s Club Advisory Council and solicitation of Council volunteers. Created Reunion giving program and the solicitation of reunion volunteers. Oversaw operation of faculty/staff giving campaign, in-house corporate campaigns, and matching gift processing.
