Heather White, Ed.D., M.S. CCC-SLP was raised in Northwest Missouri. Heather attended University of Central Missouri, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 1995 and a Masters of Science in Communication Disorders in 1997. She began her career as a contract travel therapist working in South Missouri, Louisiana, Kansas, and Illinois. These contract positions allowed Heather the opportunity to work in residential care facilities and nursing homes. In 1999 Heather accepted a position in Woodstock, Illinois with the Special Education District of McHenry County. This position tapped into a passion for working with children from ages 3-21. In 2001, Heather accepted a position in the North Kansas City School District working with the early childhood special education preschool. This position has given Heather the opportunity to hone many skills for facilitating language with low incidence children, alternative and augmentative communication, pediatric dysphagia, and Autism Spectrum disorders. Heather received her doctorate in Special Education in June of 2015. Research was focused on developmentally appropriate use of computer applications and technology in early childhood. In 2018, Heather was elected as a Board of Director and Board Secretary for the Fulfillment House, Inc a not-for-profit in Kearney, MO. The Fulfillment House provides sustainable and consistent work for adults with disabilities, which is made possible through meaningful partnerships with clients and customers.
