I am a patent attorney and a partner in the London office of one of the leading European IP firms, Withers & Rogers LLP. While my experience is very broad, I specialise in:• Medical device inventions, especially for respiratory care• Semiconductor design and fabrication• Optics• Superconductivity• Due diligence work, for example, involving writing the patent attorney’s report included in the prospectus for stock market flotations• Assessment of IP being used as collateral in a loan, which is often insurance-backed• Restoration of patents, trade marks and designs before the EPO and UKIPOMy degree is in Physics with Solid State Electronics from Exeter University. After university, I joined Withers & Rogers and I have been here ever since. I trained and qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney in the UK, as a European Patent Attorney, and then as a UK Trade Mark Attorney over the course of about 6 years. I represent all kinds of client both before the UK Patent Office (UKIPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO). I regularly attend hearings representing clients at the EPO. In March 2023, I was registered as a European Patent Litigator before the new Unified Patent Court.
