Our first-class engineering team developed 6 generations of solutions for both Validity Sensors and Synaptics -- first-class, low-cost consumer and enterprise biometrics sensors including custom firmware and software features.I design and implement comprehensive solutions in both firmware (device) and software (host) to meet extraordinary engineering challenges.I value and foster strong relationships and effective communication with the silicon architects and design team, test team, software team, external contractors, firmware teammates, and management to drive these solutions from initial implementation to help ensure successful production releases.I test and debug these solutions using Python, Verilog simulations, Xilinx FPGAs, and host software that includes my own debugging strategies, commended by the VP of Engineering for saving the company many mask-set dollars.I use a wealth of available tools ranging from low-level RTL-level simulators to scripting languages, Microsoft Visual Studio, GNU tools, and in-house targeted tools. I developed simulators to prove viability of SOC architectures for Passive Optical Network (PON) devices, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) devices, PowerQuicc networking SOCs.I drove requirements for in-house generic simulation strategies for SOC architecture, including SystemC implementations.I worked with product definers, US and India ASIC designers,firmware engineers, and test engineers to define the Freescale PowerQuicc MPC8311E.I estimated pre-silicon SOC power consumption and developed low-power strategies for SOCs.

I first developed place-and-route experience with Cadence tools for Application-Specific Custom IC development.Moving to a higher level of abstraction, I managed all the generation of timing libraries for the Cadence power and synthesis tools, developing a quick-turn simulation environment to run SPICE transistor-level simulations and extract the data automatically. The software was used for over 15 generations of standard-cell libraries.I provided teammates, internal customers, and external customers with strategies and solutions to drive productivity for layout verification, transistor-level simulation,and modeling of ASIC standard cells.
