I am the Vice President of this 118 year old Club. My family was one of those that built it as a private entertainment at the end of the 19th Century. Much has both changed and remained the same at this historic course. We are, or course, now open to the public, and mostly owned by a landholding corporation. I still live in the family house on the high ground in the center of the course, and am intimately involved in the day-to-day operations.

I continue to be Treasurer, now in my 20th year.I am in charge of all financial areas of the church's opera tion as well as many non financial ones. I receive and bank all contributions, invest proceeds, fundraise, do all taxes, payrolls, contracts, and anything else that the church needs.In addition I am not only the contact for funerals and memorial services, but acting as church Sexton, I have all stones made and engraved, both picking them up from the quarry, and laying them in the ground over the cremains that I have dug by hand. Oh, did I mention that I play Santa too?

I was on the Board for over 25 years. As one of the original small group that comprised the board I was involved in every aspect of the preservation of Hyde Hall. I interviewed other historic site directors, both those that were historic home museums, and those that had followed a path of adaptive re-use. As monies were received both from private and state resources, I helped determine which of the many areas they would be best spent. As with other Historic Homes, my being a family member was important to signify the interest that I hoped would engage others. So, these many years later Hyde Hall has many interested and involved benefactors, and the fabulous results of the restoration and the further and even greater expansion of the arts and sciences of the period, are due to that engagement.I have now stepped away, as so much interest and investment now comes from the next generation that need to be recognized, and for them to generate the future involvement of those to come.My family no longer plays an important financial or fundraising function, so it was best to step aside and let the new stars shine.

Taking 17 years of Knoll product knowledge, and almost as many years working with Arenson, My next move was from Knoll to the dealer. Here I could focus on the highly technical details of the products for sales to have the greatest advantage over competitors. I was able to conduct in depth training and advice. I reviewed the output of Specifiers from across the company's locations, and helped streamline process and procedures to make Arenson a faster more efficient seller.

Coming to Knoll with a MID from Pratt Institute in 1987, I started work as a specifier of the 2 Knoll systems furniture lines that existed at that time.Over the years as more product lines were introduced, I gradually became more and more involved the the expanding knowledge base being created. I trained sales people from both Knoll and our dealerships, worked with the engineers in our factories in the U.S. and Canada on special/modified product to respond to specific corporate requirements. I attended and led meetings both sales and technical, and co-wrote ISO9000 standards. In all, I worked with every division from corporate to management, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service. I knew everyone.
