About Revd Dr Robert Brown

Wide ranging expertise in all aspects of hydrology and water resources, including Expert Witness work. Examples include assessment, statistical and probabilistic analysis, characterisation, and naturalisation of river flows around the UK and Northern Ireland, including flood and rainfall studies, resource assessments, drought and low flow studies, climate change impacts, rainfall-runoff and river modelling, in-stream river habitat assessments, licence applications, hydo-power assessments etc., including identification and derivation of the first "Environmental Flow" in the UK on the River Darent in Kent.Water resources expertise developed over 30 years, particularly with the industry-standard Aquator modelling program since 2002 - longer than any other consultant in the country (apart from the developers!). Numerous innovative studies and methods, including invention of the Annual Failure Method for estimating resource reliability, commonly known as "The Scottish Method" for DO analysis. Also invention and development of the Refill-Reliability Method for deriving reliability-based muti-year drought management procedures and reservoir control curves (as used, for example, by Essex & Suffolk Water).Expertise in regional arid-zone design rainfall and flood studies in the Middle East, including storm water master planning for Jeddah and Kuwait City. Development of the Arid Regions Rainfall-Runoff Model (ARRRM).Met Office Daily Weather Observer, Climate Station DCNN 7078 (Greenholme, Bewcastle).Priest in Charge of the parishes of Bewcastle, Stapleton and Kirklinton with Hethersgill, Carlisle Diocese.
