Leads the private sector work of FreeFrom's Systems Change team. Develops strategy and collaborations with private sector actors, including financial institutions and employers, to support them in playing their role as part of the ecosystem of support for survivors of gender-based violence.

As part of the Systems Change team, strategized and created collaborative systemic changes that are centered on survivors of domestic violence. - Worked with the offices of Rep. Nydia Velázquez and Sen. Tina Smith to introduce the Survivor Financial Safety and Inclusion Working Group Act in Congress in 2024.- Wrote, edited, and collaborated on creating FreeFrom reports to disseminate the survivor-informed findings and recommendations on survivor financial security and safety based off of FreeFrom's Safety Fund surveys, which have reached over 6,800 survivors across the U.S as of July 2024. An example is the Before and Beyond Crisis roadmap, which is based off of a survey with over 2,100 survivors. - Conducted and supported multiple presentations on FreeFrom's work and findings to diverse audiences, including government, financial institutions, non-profit organizations, etc. Topics include how to create an ecosystem of support for survivors before and beyond crisis; how financial institutions can support survivors through FreeFrom's Survivor Safety Banking Guidelines; how to create survivor supportive paid and protected safe leave; and how to create a safe and supportive workplace for survivors. Example presentations include the 2021 AFCPE conference; the 2022 Center for Financial Empowerment Financial Capability Summit; the National Network to End Domestic Violence Economic Justice Summits of 2022 and 2024; the 2023 National Resource Center on Domestic Violence webinar; and the 2024 Community Development Bankers Association Peer Forum. - Wrote and submitted comments on behalf of FreeFrom, including to the Office of Management and Budget, Office for Victims of Crime, and the Congressional Working Group on Paid Leave.- Supervised and mentored a summer intern who conducted research on federal legislation that is supportive or adverse to survivor safety and financial security as well as shared ideas and recommendations for the System Change Team's future goals.

Provided an 87-page memo to the Health in All Policies (HiAP) Task Force recommending on the most effective ways to advance racial equity in CA state government. The Task Force is the first state-level Health in All Policies initiative in the country, striving to advance health, equity, and environmental sustainability in CA. Recommendations on integrating racial equity into state-level programs and policies involved:- Qualitative analysis from interviews with 26 CA state government staff and external partners; - Impact and data analysis on survey results from participants of the Task Force's Capitol Collaborative on Race and Equity (CCORE) program, a one-of-a-kind racial equity capacity building program for CA state government employees; and- Case studies of CCORE program participants; and- Case studies detailing racial equity work in other states of the country, such as WA, VA, MI, and OR.

Provided supplemental instruction to students taking the Economics of Public Policy Analysis 210 course, in which approximately 80 graduate students are enrolled each semester.

San Francisco Bay Area

Supported the SF Planning Department to implement the Racial and Social Equity Action Plan consistent with the Mayor's Strategic Plan vision of a "Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive City" by:- Creating a scope of work for a racial and social equity audit of the current environmental analysis process under the California Environmental Quality Act by the SF Planning Department's Environmental Planning Division. No other U.S. Planning Department has conducted such audit before. My scope of work was used to request funding from the Planning Commission for the audit. This involved collecting and analyzing qualitative data from 12 Environmental Planning Division staff and external agency partners.- Providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and visualizations on the results of the 2019 Racial & Social Equity Staff Survey in comparison to the 2017 survey; analyses will be presented to the Planning Commission in 2020.- Compiling equity goals and objectives from other city departments and jurisdictions to support the other SF Planning Department divisions in developing their own goals and objectives for the Racial and Social Equity Action Plan. - Assisting with data collection and research on best practices for equitable community outreach, engagement, and communication.

Chicago, Illinois

- Supported 10 staff from both the Midwest Project and Legal Advocacy teams during a 5-month transition period, including taking meeting notes, scheduling meetings, and booking travel.- Maintained the Midwest Project's $900,000 fiscal year budget by processing and tracking expenses incurred by all 8 energy efficiency advocates in the Project.- Attended the monthly Illinois Climate Table meetings to support low-income community members pursue clean energy jobs.

- Spearheaded the office's first ever DEI Committee to provide activities that will help improve colleagues' understanding of DEI. Regular activities included monthly documentary screenings based on what the month was celebrating (e.g. Black History Month, Women's History Month, Asian Pacific Heritage Month) and brownbag sessions to brainstorm on what DEI means for the office and what DEI professional goals should be considered.- Created an approved $4,000 budget plan and collaborated with 10 out of 44 Chicago co-workers to organize efforts.- Hosted a booth at the 2017 Ruido Fest, a local Latin American music festival where 13 volunteers including myself collected more than 100 petition signatures in 2 days and informed a diverse audience on NRDC's national and local work.- Organized a tour with 10 participants to Rebuild Foundation, an example of local sustainable redevelopment that parallels NRDC's land use reform efforts.

Chicago, Illinois

- Proofread 15 to 137-page legal briefs and expert reports under strict deadlines for a litigation on the accountability of an Illinois coal plant violating emission limits.- Created 13 quarterly and 4 yearly graphs of particulate matter emissions near a petroleum coke processing facility in Illinois for data analysis for low-income residents near the facility to use in advocating for clean air.- Helped interview 3 low-income residents in Flint, Michigan to write anecdotal evidence as part of NRDC's successful litigation for safe drinking water, tracked Flint news updates, and produced and arranged hundreds of legal documents. - Organized and led 40 NRDC staff and members in the April 2017 Chicago People's Climate March and attended Chicago planning committee meetings as the NRDC Chicago liaison.- Processed expenses and invoices and scheduled meetings and travel for 3 attorneys and 1 energy efficiency advocate.

- Participated in bi-weekly calls of this institutional caucus to discuss how to improve DEI across offices, present updates on the Chicago office's DEI activities, and share institutional updates to the office, along with 3 other representatives.- Topics included institution-wide sessions to allow colleagues to brainstorm their yearly DEI performance management goals, cultural celebrations that offices can replicate, etc.

- Part of a team of 4 members to discuss how to improve the work culture for diverse fellows.- Conducted survey to 20 present and past NRDC fellows on their fellowship experiences to identify common themes and informed HR and Culture and Management group with recommendations.

- Produced and shipped about 1,500 award certificates to Rotarians worldwide after evaluating award nominations and communicating via email.- Reviewed and managed about 4,000 web posts in 5 databases through regular email correspondence with Rotarians worldwide.- Reduced language errors and bugs in the Korean and English versions of the Rotary website before its public launch.- Initiated the first summer full-time work-study position in the RI Programs Division and returned for a second summer to increase departmental productivity.
