Flight Operations Oversight:Ensure that all flights departing from the base operate safely and efficiently.Monitor compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines (CASA).Training and Mentorship:Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to less experienced pilots.Conduct recurrent training sessions, simulator checks, and base checks for pilots based at the hub.Safety and Compliance:Ensure that all flight crew members adhere to safety standards.Collaborate with safety officers to address any incidents or concerns related to flight operations at the base.Perform audits and checks on flight operations to ensure compliance with aviation authorities.Performance Evaluation:Conduct regular evaluations of pilots, assessing their performance in flight operations, safety, decision-making, and adherence to procedures.Handle debriefs after flights to discuss any issues or learning points.Scheduling and Resource Management:Assist with crew scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for all flights while adhering to legal limits on flight hours and rest periods.Manage resources at the base, including ensuring aircraft readiness and availability.Liaison Role:Act as a point of contact between the pilots and the airline's management, communicating policy changes, new procedures, or other relevant information.Represent the interests of the base's pilots in discussions with upper management.Incident and Emergency Management:Take a lead role in coordinating responses during in-flight or on-ground emergencies.Ensure proper reporting and investigation of incidents or accidents involving base operations.
