I worked at DT’s Hotel for two years doing work both behind the bar and on the floor. My duties included preparing and serving drinks, cash handling and general bar maintenance, as well as collecting glasses and presentational upkeep of patronised areas. For a substantial period of time, I was also responsible for the weekly clean of the bar, taking stock deliveries both in the storeroom and the cellar, as well as regular stock rotation. My job also lent itself to cleaning and pack-down of the hotel after closing.

Working for a Private Health Insurance provider, I worked in both telephone sales and customer service, taking both inbound and outbound calls. I dealt with sales, membership enquiries, customer satisfaction and claims & admissions. All roles required an understanding of products, payment details, claims processing, hospital protocols and health management programs. My duties also included assistant Team Leading, coaching and mentoring.

I accepted a volunteer position on the board of Pride March in 2006, and was elected to the position of Vice President a year later. My role on the board included tasks in event management, logistics, administration and public relations. I also handled Group Registrations, managing between fifty and a hundred marching groups every year.I initiated the Regional Outreach Program, liaising with and encouraging participation from a number of community groups throughout rural Victoria.
