I managed a R&D team whose main project was modeling life of lithium-ion battery. My team attacked the problem with both electrochemistry-based and data-based approach. We also worked on applying adaptive-control method to life model of lithium-ion battery system in EV. The model developed by the team plays a pivotal role in battery life-care service by LG Energy Solution.

I improved performance of lithium-ion battery using real-time signals. I created adaptive power limit calculator of EV, which had been calculated based on testing data before emergence of adaptive one. I also developed electrochemistry-based battery model describing dynamics of lithium ions and electrons using coupled PDE. I built parameter determination process of the model including both parameter-extraction from battery design sheet and parameter-estimation from a set of battery testing data.
