As a fourth-year student at UCI pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering (BME), I am driven by a passion for exploring the diverse facets of the biomedical industry and using my skills to make a meaningful impact in healthcare.I chose to study BME as I have always been fascinated by biology as well as the medical field. This combined with my love for engineering and hands-on projects pushed me forward. I was captivated by how BME seamlessly integrates many engineering principles with biological sciences, offering many opportunities for innovation.During college, I had the privilege of working on a project that focused on developing guidance glasses. This prototype device was designed to assist visually impaired individuals in navigating the urban environment. As the hardware engineer lead, I was responsible for overseeing the design process using Solidworks as well as 3D printing the components. This experience reinforced my passion for prototyping as well as exposed me to the intricacies of troubleshooting and iterative design.As I continue my education, I hope to gain more hands-on experiences and acquire new skills and knowledge that will empower me to drive positive change. By learning these new skills I aspire to contribute to solving healthcare issues and improving the overall quality of life for individuals worldwide.
