Prior to this I was at the University of Utah where I focused on super-computing, telecommunications, and general campus computing. My focus has always been on value driven business enablement and delivery-oriented technology modernization.Now living in Bellingham Washington, just north of Seattle, I am adept at remote work environments, frequent travel, and management of globally distributed teams. Career highlights include:• The development of Morgan Stanley’s application-containerization strategy and the modernization of a decades old global application distribution process providing continuous policy-based hygiene, risk, and change management.• The development of Morgan Stanley’s initial Public Cloud Strategy and business model as part of the Office of the CTO. This also included the creation and management of Morgan Stanley’s initial public cloud and technology innovations engineering team.• Helped to develop Morgan Stanley’s IT Strategy and Architecture principles as part of the Office of the CTO, leading to broad technology renovations of fundamental infrastructure services.• Developed strategy, design, and implementation for the modernization of Morgan Stanley’s global telecommunications network – twice.• Past advisory member on numerous boards including: ONUG, Cisco Networks, and the U.S Council on Competitiveness (High Performance Computing).• Instrumental in the development of the University of Utah’s Intermountain Network and Scientific Computation Center (INSCC), the vBNS and Internet-2.As a passion I volunteer with various backcountry trail maintenance crews throughout the Pacific Northwest and Cascade Mountains, am an avid skier, and currently building a small wooden sailboat which honestly is a bit challenging.
