Changing the localization industry for the better.

Achievements:- Managed the entire localization program (25+ languages, 5 major platforms, 30+ projects and components), from inception to delivery.- Managed a distributed localization team: ~30 remote linguists, two in-house engineers and two in-house localization managers across multiple offices.- Served as an internationalization and localization expert and evangelist within the company, provided onboarding and support for engineers, managers, designers and helped raise the i18n quality of our products.- Proactively worked across teams, analyzed requirements from internal stakeholders (designers, product, engineering, marketing) and offered localization processes and technological solutions that enabled on-time delivery and minimal efforts from other teams.- Managed the development and roadmap of Evernote's online translation server and translation platform (analysis, design, implementation, QA). - Implemented innovative approaches to localizing software products, marketing materials, subtitles, image assets, that allowed for faster turnaround, better overall quality and deeper integration into agile workflows.- Implemented a convenient technical layer for unified cross-platform copy A/B testing.- Reduced direct translation costs by 50% while improving the translation quality, scaling to more languages and localization projects, and keeping a minimal headcount.- Reduced indirect engineering and management costs by implementing robust automated content extraction pipelines and letting software engineers focus on maintaining only English resource files and enabling distraction-free product development. - Documented and open-sourced our core localization automation product: Serge (serge.io).

- Managed the team of two in-house software engineers.- Worked on the development of Evernote's localization automation platform: wrote the core, parsers for multiple file formats, plugins to support advanced localization automation workflows. Helped engineers across all supported platforms (Web, desktop, mobile) with bootstrapping internationalization across multiple products/platforms.- Managed the development of our online translation server.

- Contributed as a designer and product manager in the development of our translation server.- Translated Evernote products into Russian. Coordinated Evernote activities in Russia.- Started designing and building our localization automation platform.

- Managed the Windows application development.- Provided UI mockups, image assets, behavior specifications, did QA, filed issues for Evernote for Windows and Windows Mobile.- Improved support for drag-n-drop and fixed UI-related issues in the code.- Designed and developed the 'Universal clipper' component of the Windows application.

Designed the product UI (multi-channel video surveillance and automation platform). Helped bring product documentation to a new level (content design, automated way of building different versions of online and PDF documentation from a single source).

Developed intranet site with internal services for employees, and an online shop for external customers. Did UI/UX work and marketing design (web and printed promo materials).
