Skylark is a Series-A startup developing new SDR implementations of 5G wireless beamforming technologies. As a R&D intern at Skylark, I worked with a team of over 10 people and reported directly to the CEO. Specific accomplishments include:• Designed and implemented TVWS assignment management daemon in Python with HTTP for Skylark’s MU-MIMO basestations. Basestations are responsible for managing potentially thousands of dynamic assignments of TVWS spectrum bands to receivers within their operational range.• Learned the theory behind and construction of Skylark’s MU-MIMO beamforming SDR technology.• Tested Skylark Iris front-end radios for RF shielding problems; verified physical solutions to these problems.

WiTricity is a mid-stage Boston startup focused on wireless charging for electric vehicles, formerly with an auxiliary team specializing in consumer electronics (CE). As a R&D intern at WiTricity, I worked broadly across development teams, ultimately reporting to a senior hardware engineer. Specific accomplishments include: • Developed models for experimental receiver behavior in Python using the NumPy and SciPy libraries. Created and developed general purpose modeling and data plotting software in Python for CE team use. • Learned design of WiTricity’s wireless magnetic resonance power system; conducted materials testing and data collection for receiver modification. • Worked with the consumer electronics RFID and automotive foreign object detection teams on physical solutions and data processing solutions to power emitter Foucault current heating problems.

Taught course material for introductory level Electricity and Magnetism during after-hours sessions; constructively worked through problems with students.
