Understanding. Diversity. Arbitration. Dialogue. These four facets (which I have designated UDAD) are at the core of my modus operandi when dealing with new acquaintances, and this has served me well during my time in the military and during my extensive travels around this little blue marble we call home. From the majestic countrysides of the Tōhoku region in Japan to the sun kissed streets of Madrid, my love of diplomacy and culture has catapulted me to areas unknown-- with each destination teaching me more about myself than I ever thought I would come to know. My cultural sensitivity and awareness have certainly become fine tuned to each destination, as I've made lifelong friends with practically everyone I met. My excursions were more than just a trips of whimiscal fancy, they were a soul-searching journey that concluded with me growing as a person and becoming a more cultured and understanding individual who is unafraid to tackle the most challenging problems through diplomacy, dialogue, and critical thinking. My quote to live by is “Tact is the knack of making a point without making an enemy.” ― Sir Isaac Newton
