Now retired after working 40 years in the data networking and telecommunications industry as a Sales Executive,Sales Manager,Vice President ,Managing Director and latterly Business Development Manager of cloud based business solutions provider, Cloud Direct. Cloud Direct specialises in cloud based hosted applications and tailored broadband solutions providing managed connectivity for converged IP ,VPN and VoIP applications. Cloud Direct purchased my company Activator UK in 2010 and is now the leading managed cloud brokerage provider supporting enterprises in their move to implement voice, video and data applications over the cloud.My Specialties: A senior manager with extensive sales and general management experience in the data and telecommunications industry.The last 15 years being in broadband access and cloud based network solutions. Skills gained in managing field sales and sales support functions based both in UK and International locations. Experience in setting sales plans,territory assignments,sales coaching and managing both direct and indirect sales channels. As of the beginning of 2013 I am now in retirement mode.Retirement has now given me free time to indulge in many activities one of which is golf ( no surprises here). Encouraged by my wife to use some of my work experience for others I now work regularly as a volunteer for a charity EBP which is based in Newbury. The volunteer role soon became a Board member role and most recently I was appointed as Chair of the Trustees. I act as a mentor and coach in the schools around West Berkshire and Wiltshire supporting EBP in running practice interview days and Champions of Enterprise competitions (a Dragon's Den type exercise) for year 11,12 students. I also give workshops for another charity talking to students about ' small business' management based on my ownership of Activator UK. In 2015 I started visiting Uganda to give business workshops to local communities.
