My role has been an exciting one as I have led the development and establishment of a new Christian school of excellence in the new township of Googong. The Director of Education Strategy drives innovation, promotes opportunities for students inside and outside the School and to enriches the life of the whole School by forging significant partnerships withleading individuals and institutions locally, nationally and internationally. This role also leads the Community Relations Office which is responsible for the marketing and promotion of the School along with running the many varied events for the School community.In addition to these roles there have been a number of strategic projects which I have led. Most recently this included the development of a School wide intranet for the whole school community and included information, communication and educational components.

Key Achievements:• Developed a Charter of Learning & Teaching for Marist College Canberra which clearly defines the role of leaders, teachers and students. This provides for a common language and accountability that all leaders and teachers use in their work as we focus on continually improving student outcomes• Developed and implemented the Year 9 Footsteps program that has led to a significant increase in student engagement and an improvement in student outcomes• Developed a continuum of learning and teaching from Years 4 – 12. Teachers now work across the Junior and Senior school campuses in planning and evaluating student-centred learning and teaching• Implemented the use of evidence-based change and research to support school improvement. This has provided a clear focus for the College to ensure that all change is planned and clearly aimed at improving student outcomes in a given area that has been identified for improvement• Led the use of a project management framework in which the College successfully planned, managed and implemented significant change in a five year strategic plan aimed at improving student outcomes

Key Achievements:• Planned, developed and implemented a new ICT systems network within the College with Microsoft as a key partner in this development which led to a far more efficient and easier system to manage for student and staff use• Introduced a series of ICT systems to provide access to learning and teaching resources for students that took school beyond the gate via the internet – this allowed for students to engage with and use a wide variety of online resources provide by their teachers to assist them with their learning.• Established a staff ‘breakfast club’ that facilitated ICT training and the exchange of ideas for use in the classroom with the development of e-learning resources for students• Developed and installed a model of ‘smart room’ which provided students and teachers with a rich learning environment in the classroom. This included the use of interactive whiteboards, data projectors, wireless keyboards and sound systems• Provided strategic advice to a range of schools in Queensland, NSW and Victoria to assist them in providing ICT resources for learning and teaching that would engage students and allow teachers to provide e-learning resources which supported students both in and out of the classroom

Key Achievements:• Introduced the concept of e-learning to teachers and worked with teachers from Pre-school to Year 12 in producing resources for students to support the changing pedagogy that was beginning to emerge in schools• Member of the ICT Working Party with Queensland Studies Authority to design and implement new accredited ICT courses for Years 11 – 12 which allowed for the delivery of industry based courses for students• Developed a set of IT competencies for students from Pre-school to Year 12 and developed integrated curriculum to support these for Pre-school to Year 8 with training for teachers

• Completed a five year strategic plan for IT from Kindergarten to Year 10 – competencies mapped to various curriculum areas and the infrastructure planned• Responsible for whole of school timetabling – K - 10• Established campus management procedures for the maintenance and enhancement of the school facilities• Provided online information to all staff in many administration areas through an intranet• Pastoral Care teacher, teacher of Geography in Years 7 - 10

In this position I was the leader of the 'Curriculum Team' in the Secondary School. I provided leadership in the areas of Curriculum, Assessment and Professional Development within the Secondary School.• Restructured the Secondary Curriculum and timetable to allow for wider choice of individual pathways for students – including vertical grouping• Provided high speed internet access and full staff email access• Led the staff in developing curriculum using an Outcomes Based approach• Led staff in developing outcome based assessment tools• Pastoral Care teacher, teacher of Geography in Years 7 - 10

This position required me to supervise, implement and develop curriculum and to supervise teaching staff, in the Technology and The Arts key learning areas.• Installed, maintained and enhanced a campus wide computer network• Obtained various grants for Capital works within the Technology areas of the school from Kindergarten to Year 10• Led staff in the use of the internet in the classroom with the first group of ACT schools• Led staff in developing units of work suited to use with internet based work• Year Coordinator for Year 10, Pastoral Care teacher, teacher of Geography in Years 7 – 10 and Design Technology Years 7 - 10
