As a principal electrical engineer with DNVGL Noble Denton Marine Services, I was responsible for the development of FMEA (Failure mode and Effects Analysis) and trials programs for DP2 & DP3 offshore vessels. Responsible for the development of FMECA (Failure mode and effects criticality analysis), for DP offshore vessels, as well as for construction vessel Pipe lay equipment, A&R (Abandonment & Recovery) and MLD (Mooring line deployment) winches, including PHMJ (Pipe Handling Multi-Joint systems) to ensure the fail-safe operation of the equipment.

• Witnessing and reporting of Annual DP Trials and DP FMEAs in a thorough manner, noting any anomalies that have arisen since the last trials. • Carrying out comprehensive analysis in preparing DP FMEA reports for all types of DP vessels. • Compiling thorough vessel condition reports for ship owners and their clients.• Investigating reported problem areas and suggesting solutions that could render the vessel more reliable

Senior E&I Project Engineer within the Technical Services Group (TSG) reporting to the Regional Manager (TSG). Responsibilities included:• Monitoring the electrical, automation and data system associated with the project• Review new regulations, looking at the new technology, providing the leadership in the selection of solutions to achieve the best outcome of the project• Making decisions regarding projects in respect to design, technical specifications and allocation of resources and project budgeting Projects included:• Designing and implementing air conditioned solution for overheating of steering gear on LNG Q-Flex vessels• Working on a ULCC to FSO conversion; producing electrical solutions which reflect the requirements of the end user• Carrying out various methods of power reduction with the intention of energy reduction on vessels

Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent within the LNG Strategic Business Unit.Responsibilities included:• Ensuring the vessels under my control had all the electrical and automation systems maintained in a fully operational status at all times, as well as being in full compliance with all relevant Company, Flag & Class regulations• Assisting the Technical Superintendents with all aspects of the vessel’s electrical, automation and data systems• Assist the Technical Superintendents to keep spares and repair costs under strict control at all times• Assist in compiling dry dock & repair specifications when required• Ensure that all systems are maintained in a safe and effective manner
