Conducting energy studies and audits on particular energy aspects ranging from heating and hot water systems of hotels, CHP, lighting, kitchen and swimming pools and detailing how energy could be saved in particular areas, including return of investment calculations.Studying and analyzing fuel consumption and other factors onboard a large (154 meter, 1500 passenger) car ferry with a view to introducing energy saving measures.Working with the engineering department of a port conducting an initial energy audit combining energy consumption by a number of different factors ranging from gantry cranes, straddle carriers, company vehicles to quay lighting across all the ports locations. Constructing a long term plan to reduce energy consumption in the port.Working on developing system documentation, standards of practice and procedures within Longship, as they were a start-up company that was in the early stages of development. Studying energy management standards (such as EN16001) was also important to ensure Longship could implement them for a partner company. Also contributed to the business plan.Determining the usability of potential online based project management software and editing them to become more compatible with energy management terminology and proceduresPresenting reports and findings to staff and management of hotels and the captain and the crew of the ferry.Very diverse, rewarding and responsible work placement experience that involved a wide range of skills from project management, engineering, communication, presentation, inter-personal and report writing.
