Recovery Worker - Hmp ThamesideTurning Point Jun 2014 - Nov 2014Greenwich Peninsula, England, United Kingdom• I managed a high caseload of 50 substance misuse clients within an adult remand setting. • Comprehensive, evidence based assessments, risk-assessments and care-plans were completed within a timely manner to ensure service KPI's were met. • Psycho-social interventions were delivered on a daily basis to these clients via Motivational Interviewing, Socratic Questioning and ITEP resources. This was on a one-to-one basis.• Such a diverse array of male clients within HMP Thameside led to a complex caseload, many of which were dual diagnosis. Due to this complexity it was essential that I was familiar with safeguarding protocol, this was followed on many occasions to ensure the well-being of service users, their families, victims and staff.• I facilitated both ad-hoc group-work and longer substance misuse programmes, as well as, auricular acupuncture and weekly 12-step fellowship meetings. • Furthermore I supported the development and training of peer-supporters who became an established and well-respected workforce within HMP Thameside. -
