After leaving legal practice in 2001 with 17 years’ experience of negotiations and engaging fully with clients and partners as the managing partner of a vibrant legal business, I sought involvement in wider commercial situations through engagement with corporates, SMEs and by creating start-ups / SPVs.I have worked with and in existing teams and also formed new teams and new businesses engaging with accountants, funders, lawyers and other professional advisers as required. Detailed stakeholder engagement has been a pre-requisite of a number of longer term commitments during the period of banking uncertainty after 2007.When an issue within the team or a complex situation requires to be addressed I step forward bringing an open minded and common sense approach to finding practical, achievable solutions. I consider positively what can be done rather than what cannot when reviewing the matrix of desires, risks, contractual commitments and existing company strategies or protocols. I look to work with board or team members to manage change successfully, manage risk, grow businesses or deliver projects with a view to securing or improving profitability.
