Project ManagerNec Group Sep 2018 - May 2021Birmingham, United KingdomSuccessfully managed a project to upgrade and configure our event management platform (Ungerboeck), rolling out the new functionality across our venues and included the technical deployment, functional and user testing, training and internal communications. Delivered replacement Wi-Fi at our Vox venue using Cisco Wi-Fi 6 hardware, utilising Cisco DNA Centre for live assurance reporting and DNA spaces for the splash page. The project was delivered end to end in under 4 months ready for a high profile Cisco event. Also managed an organisation wide network refresh moving to a software defined network using Cisco DNA Center. Working with our delivery partner we completed the design work, and install the border and intermediary switches. Key responsibilities included managing the procurement phase, managing our delivery partner including the review/delivery of statements of work, liaising with key stakeholders for requirements, installation of hardware and to understand/communicate the impact of the project. -

These included: - Delivery of an organisation wide rollout of Windows 10 and Office 365. The implementation included a full device refresh across two sites and remote workers, including desktop PCs and laptops as define by our user personas. Also included mobile device management and multi-factor authentication. I was responsible for requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, cutover logistics, business change activities including training and communications as well as early life support. - A sub-programme of work focussed on collaboration and digital transformation (£2m budget) that included an intranet and document management implementation (Beezy/SharePoint) and the migration of data from the legacy platform Umbraco, Unified Comms (Skype for Business) and MS Office 365 collaboration (MS Teams plus other 365 apps). I led a team consisting of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers and a Product Owner using a blend of waterfall and agile techniques.All of the above was underpinned by a business centered strategy focused on how to deliver these technologies to our users to improve productivity, information governance and security and flexible working. -
Portfolio Manager (Interim)Solicitors Regulation Authority Feb 2016 - Apr 2017Birmingham, United Kingdom- Provided business change advice to senior managers including policy and operational Directors, to help shape their projects, making sure that they considered the wider organisation and engage with the right stakeholders, as well as advising them on project governance.- Set up a new PMO following an organisation re-structure. To support the delivery of both IT and non-IT projects I put in place project governance and controls, quality assurance, a new project lifecycle and introduced new project templates and processes. I also implemented a skills matrix within the team to understand capability and development needs.- Directly managed a team of up to 6 Project Managers whilst co-leading wider PMO team, providing coaching and mentoring on all aspects of project management including best practice in relation to planning, risk and issue management, stakeholder engagement and project delivery. - Managed projects at a portfolio level. This included overseeing the SRA’s most high-profile annual project (Dynamics CRM & online customer portal upgrades) that collects an annual income of over £100m, advising the project board on governance and controls. I also managed key dependencies between projects, escalated risk/issues and project finances. Involved working with the supplier’s offshore development team.- Managed the capture of system requirements as part of large-scale transformation programme (MS Dynamics 365/CRM), working closely with a large consultancy firm. The role needed me to manage and influence Directors and Executive Directors to ensure their buy-in, influence them and manage conflict when it arose. -
