I have a very high level of knowledge and experience across the width of the Marine Insurance industry that has encompassed claims, underwriting and distribution. As National Underwriting Manager of Marine and Transport Liability I am acknowledged as an excellent team player capable of bringing people together on a specific project or in a general working environment. Communication is another area of strength demonstrated through written articles, reports, presentations and webinars to local and international audiences. Experience has taught me to support strategic thinking with facts and reliable statistics that increase the certainty of decision making and the prediction of outcomes. I believe an awareness of unconscious bias when undertaking a task is important to prevent too much reliance on intuition versus calculable probabilities or risks.I am proud of the marine and insurance industries I operate in and like to encourage others in their pursuit of knowledge in these areas through providing education, direction and support. Overarching the above is the ability build relationships with people regardless of background or position as well as a continued desire to learn from others. This is also what makes the work I do so enjoyable.
