Acrometis is a consultancy formed by senior oil and gas industry professionals, which helps energy companies improve the sustainable performance of their assets by enhancing business results, safety and asset integrity. We target a set of metrics and organisational behaviours that have been proven to generate greatly improved operational performance and a powerful uplift in the free cash flow from assets.Additionally following the work Acrometis carried out on behalf of Kerogen Capital I became an Operating Partner with Kerogen.

I am responsible for the Production Operations (PO) function globally for BG Group.The most senior Operational leaders in each of our entities functionally report to myself, I own Group Technical Standards, business processes and ways of working pertaining to Production Operations. We have a Production Operations population of circa 1500, I am accountable for resource capability and deployment aligned with our corporate strategy, and the development of the PO community.I report to the Executive Committee regarding PO strategy, developing Group strategies particularly in terms of Production Efficiency, Operational Performance and Cost Effectiveness.

Initially for BG Group upstream assets and subsequently the whole portfolio including mid-stream responsible for assuring safe, efficient, cost effective and timely production operations across all Group activities (from Exploration to Production), in support of which:- Lead the Group Operations Excellence programme.- Functionally manage across the Group Operations manpower.- Resource a fit for purpose Production Operations organisation in all business units in consultation with the business- Ensure appropriate governance of Operations, Asset Integrity and Process Safety of all BG Group assets.- Manage and regularly review the Group Operations Management Standards (OMS) and ensure compliance.- Establish operating philosophy and organisation to operate future operated developments.- Provide Operations Subject Matter Expert advice and assistance to all functions across the BG Group.- Group Technical Authority for Production Operations.

One of a team of seven senior experts responsible for leading Value Assurance and Project Execution Reviews throughout the Shell Group. For business opportunities/projects $500mln or greater, Value Assurance Reviews are mandated prior to each major decision-gate. The purpose of the review is to provide guidance to Decision Executives on the viability of the opportunity, quality of work done to date and readiness to proceed beyond decision-gate. Within the team I am the Global Subject Matter Expert for Operations Readiness, Operations Management and HSSE. Additionally I lead 3rd party independent project reviews for major Projects globally.

During this broadening assignment in Human Resources I developed a deeper understanding of global talent management, workforce planning, long-term resourcing strategies and resourcing principles.I provided resourcing advice to new venture set up, including organisational development and resourcing strategies for new business opportunities.

The Sakhalin II Project involved the development of two offshore fields: Piltun-Astokhskoye (containing mostly oil with some free gas and cap gas) and Lunskoye (containing mostly gas with some condensate) and considered among the largest in the world.Full-field development of the Sakhalin II Project involved: • two new offshore platforms,• onshore pipelines to carry oil and gas to the south of the Island,• an onshore processing facility (OPF),• a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant and• offloading terminals for crude oil and LNGDuring the HUC phase I was the Piltun B complex OIM responsible for the development and implementation of the HSE Management System, and the management of the over 550 multicultural workforce involved in the offshore activities. The full HUC scope was completed without an LTI or significant injurious incident. I set-up the Operations organisation and management systems to ensure a robust acceptance, handover of facilities and the transfer of Asset ownership from the Project to Operating Company. Upon completion of the HUC phase all habitation systems were accepted, and successfully operated throughout the first Sakhalin winter. I developed the Piltun B offshore facilities start up strategy and organisation, and then managed the team to deliver facilities production manuals, procedures and start up hardware requirements. In December '08 Piltun B delivered 1st Oil production on schedule and exceeded production targets in the first year of operations.

I was responsible for the generation and execution of the venture set-up and Operations Readiness plans for the SEIC Operations Support Organisation and Piltun B facilities. The Piltun B platform is one of the largest integrated Oil, Gas and Drilling installations in the Shell Group located in a remote arctic environment. This involved getting People, Systems, Processes and Hardware ready for Operations. My responsibilities included development of the HSE Management System, setting the field-life manning strategies, detailing the lifecycle operating costs (OPE$T modelling), resourcing the start-up organisation, developing operational systems, including Maintenance Management System / Operations Management System and processes and setting the operational phase contracting strategy. I led the operations team in design ensuring quality operations input and responsible for operations revisions to the Basis of Design. During the construction phase I was responsible for setting up the operations organisation within the construction yard, ensuring operations input in construction and commissioning activities. During the yard period we also focused on training and competence requirements for the offshore teams. My team developed and designed the operating strategy that enables early start-up of the facilities (PEST), six months ahead of project schedule. Challenges included developing hardware and operations for the harsh remote Sakhalin offshore environment, ensuring compliance with Russian Federation legislation and developing a safety culture across a multicultural organisation and numerous contracting companies.

Responsible for the Operations, Production and expenditure associated with the 18 offshore installations in the Leman, Sean/Inde, Covette and Brigantine Fields. Safety performance was a key challenge, when commencing in the role with a TRCF above 12 and through commitment and leadership we were able to achieve over 18 months TRC free. In 2001 I was the team leader for the first Gas Supply Group PtL Peer Assist outcomes of which included the introduction of the Production Optimisation Process. I was the management representative chairing the offshore Staff Committee. I led a team that delivered the first ONEgas contract including an integrated plan for the provision of accommodation vessel support across Shell UK and NAM, and was subsequently the contract owner for the $12M contract.

Managed the Leman Asset topside facilities, including the nodal platform and 8 NUI's (up to 200 personnel on board), ensuring production, maintenance, engineering and safety performance targets are achieved. I managed overall emergency response actions, securing the integrity of the Asset and personnel.
