I am a Senior Security professional with a breadth of experience in corporate security, retail loss prevention and counter terrorism. I served 28 years in Police Scotland rising to Police Inspector and managed Preventions, Interventions and Partnerships serving Greater Glasgow Police Division.I am passionate about protecting people, property and premises and have worked in crime prevention and partnerships at all levels in my police career. I successfully developed 3 divisional departments into one high performing team through the transition to Police Scotland in 2013. This included co-locating with a key partner, Community Safety Glasgow.I am known for my friendly and engaging manner, strong but supportive leadership and influence. My key competencies are in leadership, physical security and incident management.Leadership: I am known as a strong leader and, during my police career, took on several demotivated and underperforming teams. Through my support, influence, and ‘back to basics’ approach, I transformed them into professional, high performing teams.Physical Security: I completed my police training in Standard crime prevention and Secured by Design. I have used these as a basis throughout my career in policing and corporate security.Incident Management: As a former Police Incident Officer, my training was put into action when fire destroyed the Primark store in central Belfast. I deployed quickly to Belfast to support the management of the incident in partnership with police, fire service and council leaders.Additional relevant experience: Security consultant responsible for the protection of people, property and premises across 85 retail stores in UK and ROI.Senior Security Consultant covering UK, ROI and USA responsible for 240 retail stores and leading a team of 4 consultants.Trainer and facilitator in Emergency procedures and Counter terrorism, developed and delivered over 20 workshops in UK, ROI and USA.
