Iain Barbour is an independent non-executive director with extensive governance experience gained on several commercial and not-for-profit boards. He currently serves as Senior Independent Director at Financial Guaranty UK, a regulated insurance company, as Governor at the University for the Creative Arts, a Trustee at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and as a Trustee at The Actors' Benevolent Fund. Previously he served as an Independent Non Executive Director of DBRS Morningstar's global credit ratings business and on the boards of several infrastructure and social housing companies. He has served on the boards of several leading not-for-profit organisations, serving as Chair of Alleyn's School, the UK's leading co-educational independent day school, a member of the Almeida Theatre’s Development Council and as a Trustee of The Dulwich Estate. He served as Chair of the European Securitisation Forum and as a Board Member of the Bond Market Association. Iain's professional career spanned over 35 years in the global capital markets. He has specialised in the provision of infrastructure finance; securitisation structuring and research; repo finance and investor relations. During his career, he advised borrowers, investors, servicers and trustees in connection with the financing of a wide variety of assets in several jurisdictions across Asia, Europe and the US. Key achievements have included structuring of the inaugural Euroclear Triparty Repo service; developing some of the formative European commercial real-estate securitisations; and the building and delivery of Bishopsfield Capital Partners’ Monitoring Advisory service to support project and infrastructure finance investors.Iain’s achievements have been recognised in winning several leading, independent awards. These have included successive Thomson Extel Research Awards and the Financial World Innovation Award in recognition of the development of Bishopsfield's monitoring advisory services.
