My goal is to advance transformative research in the life sciences both through the work in my lab and by enabling diverse researchers through improved training, scientific and administrative leadership, and constructive changes to scientific communication.My lab is focused on understanding the molecular basis for core cellular processes in human cells including how cells grow, proliferate, divide, and function. To respond to physiological changes, cells remodel their proteomes across different cell cycle stages, cell states, cell types, developmental stages, and disease states. We seek to understand how diverse cellular processes are rewired to achieve these different programs through changes at the transcriptional, translational, and post-translational levels, including identifying previously-overlooked functional protein isoforms.
