Specialised in C#/ASP.NET web application development for the Private and Public Sector. My role was initially split between customer support for existing web applications, and HTML builds for new sites within a company owned CMS. I was also involved with the creation of additional functionality for existing systems which included the creation of plugins for the Open Source 'CKEditor' component, a quotation management system for a Window company, and integration with the Google Maps API.I took on additional responsibilities including the day to day configuration and maintenance of the IT infrastructure - Active Directory / Exchange server, a linux Mail Server, Google Mini search appliances, SonicWall Firewall, IIS servers and our SQL Servers. A key responsibility was ensuring that the Production hosting environment remained stable.As I gained experience, I became involved with the design and development of new systems through the entire project life cycle from initial requirements gathering to testing and maintenance. I led the migration of the CMS from Classic ASP to a C# Web Forms application on the .NET Framework. This included the creation of new dynamic Survey, CRM and Mailing systems.I relished working in a small company and learnt a lot about the entire software process including software design, effort estimations, application deployment, legacy application support, migration of existing software to ASP.NET, support of internal IT infrastructure, day to day maintenance and configuration of a hosting platform.
