A thermo-mechanical engineer who enjoys designing and testing rocket propulsion hardware.As a test engineer, I have led propellant feed system construction projects for a variety of gaseous, liquid and cryogenic programmes. As a design engineer, I have created custom hardware for controlling high-pressure gas flows, combustors for generating high-temperature vitiated air, and rocket engine components made with additive manufacture. My software work includes the flight modelling and control loop definition of VTVL rocket vehicles, automatic analysis of test data, and techniques for nonlinear analysis of combustion instabilities.

  Design of propellant feed systems for a variety of gaseous, liquid and cryogenic feed systems, including O2/CH4/H2/Air/N2O/IPA/Ethanol/N2/He/H2O and fuel blends. Activities from equipment specification to custom component design, facility layout, safety documentation and control loop implementation for massflow or pressure control.Additive manufacturing design and testing of rocket engine components, including combustion chambers and injectors made from copper, nickel and aluminium alloys. Investigations into post-processing such as NDT, barrier coatings and bimetallic jackets.Mechanical design and testing of a custom vitiated air combustor for high-temperature heat exchanger testing.Flight modelling and control loop design of AEL's Vertical-takeoff, Vertical-landing (VTVL) vehicle 'Gyroc'. First successful tests of a European VTVL vehicle.Writing software defined GPS and MEKF IMU code with applications in rocket flight tracking and control.
