Physicist by education, computer scientist and SysAdmin by deformation, and all live long educator. Working with computers since the ZX81 era, and into science since, and before... Carl Sagan's Cosmos and Isaac Asimov's the Universe. Nowadays working with High Performance Computing systems since long, helping researchers bridging the gap between theoretical models and their numerical counterparts, and always trying to show researchers of all kind the "computational thinking" way of science; the third (now fourth?) leg of science.

Scientific Computing Specialist / Hpc Computing Centre Manager
Purchase, setup and administration of the Center Scientific Computing infrastructure consisting of two Data Centers hosting five High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters of different sizes, kinds and purposes, all adding up a total of 260 computing nodes summing up 5720 cores and 29 TB or RAM. This provides CFM with a computing time of more than 50 million CPU hours a year, and an aggregated computing power of 147 TFLOPS of Theoretical Peak Performance. Scientific staff support regarding programming best practices, HPC systems usage, code optimization and paralellization, debugging, scripting techniques, equipment purchase, etc.Design and setup of the network, communications (many thanks to the UPV/EHU CIDIR people for the help) and IT systems for the new CFM building (about 5000m2 and 100 people) where we moved to on July, 2009. Management of the CFM Computing Service.Research assistant and R+D higher technician support in the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities, MICINN projects "Data-Driven APproach for AcceleRating PulsEdPlaSmonic CaTalsis (PREST)" PID2022-141017OB-I00 and "Electron Excitations and Dynamics in Surfaces and Nanostructures (2EDiSNa)" PID2022-139230NB-I00.
