I’m a strategic creative director who is able to operate, advise and persuade comfortably at board level. I'm also a hands-on creative and strategist/planner. I've steered agencies to win over 20 awards for creative and strategic excellence in brand, design, engagement and communication.I specialize in creative concepts; branding (creation, development, engagement, storytelling and activation); integrated campaigns and anything that requires a great idea that can stretch across many channels. My passion is driving change – attitude, behaviour & engagement using design thinking, process and artefact. This means I also enjoy designing one-off inteventions as much as the big stuff (ask me how I used a beermat to help trap a sex offender). I can work alone, but love teamwork.My experience includes global agency and small, entrepreneurial agency settings and I have also worked in-house and client-side, which gives me a unique perspective and business insight. I'm used to matrix working, having collaborated with teams in the US, Canada, Europe and Singapore. I can also lead multidisciplinary teams or fly solo.In terms of wider industry engagement, I've been a Board Director of the Design Business Association (DBA. I'm have been a Fellow of the RSA, worked with the Sorrell Foundation as a creative mentor and with the Design Council developing National Occupational Standards for the design industry. I've been an occasional visiting lecturer at Greenwich University and enjoy public speaking, to audiences as diverse as business consultancy, education and the creative industries.My principal obsessions outside of strategy and design are composing, arranging and performing music and seeking areas of outstanding natural comedy.Portfolio website available on request.
