As a Vice President of an international Model United Nations (MUN) organizing committee, I'm fortunate to work alongside a passionate team dedicated to promoting global citizenship and fostering leadership skills among young people. Our committee organizes MUN conferences all over Nepal with international Executive Boards.My role as Vice President involves overseeing the planning and execution of these conferences and collaborating with our ⁸international partners to ensure their success, which requires excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to different cultural and logistical contexts. Through this work, I have gained valuable experience in team management, conflict resolution, and strategic planning.One of our committee's primary goals is to decentralize the MUN culture in Nepal, making it more accessible to students from all backgrounds and regions. To achieve this, we have established partnerships with schools and universities across the country, providing resources and training to educators and students interested in starting their own MUN programs. By empowering young people to develop their leadership and communication skills, we hope to cultivate a generation of informed and engaged citizens capable of tackling global issues.In addition to organizing conferences, I have also had the opportunity to participate in MUN as a delegate and Executive Board member. These experiences have challenged me to think critically about complex global issues, broaden my understanding of different cultures and perspectives, and develop my public speaking and negotiation skills. Through my involvement in MUN, I have gained a sense of confidence and purpose that I carry with me in all aspects of my life.Looking to the future, I am excited to continue working with my colleagues to expand the reach and impact of MUN in Nepal and beyond.
