Environmental and sustainability compliance at the Triple Bay, Red Sea Global-Amaala Landscaping projects

• To monitor, control and implement the CESMP at Red Sea Turtle Bay (Shura Island) and Amaala Tripple Bay (Al Wajh) | Client: TRSDC and Amaala • Grand Hyatt (Coral Bloom) Shura Island (Umluj) • Village Boutique Hotel (VBH) (Al Wajh) • Marina Lifestyle Hotel (MLH) (Al Wajh)• To prepare and review the scopes of work and procurement packages for developing baseline surveys, ESIA, SEA and/or CESMP and CWMP• Undertaking site inspections, carrying out monitoring activities and completing site daily, weekly and monthly checklists• Conducts environmental inspections and prepare weekly and monthly report• Present the project progress during meeting with DAR and TRSDC• Maintain Legal Register, and keep records of NCEC/ MEWA permits • Prepare Environmental Induction trainings and Awareness talks in line with REA, ESIA and CESMP• Keep a record of all weekly environmental meetings, toolbox talks and the like on site, complete with subject discussed and a signed list of attendees.• Have overall responsibility of environmental governance and for implementation of construction contractor’s environmental obligations;• Regular liaison with construction team to ensure that all required environmental safeguards are being implemented and maintained as defined in CESMP.• Keep records of all incidents and environmental damage that has occurred at the site.• Ensuring all corrective and preventative actions identified during inspections and audits are• effectively addressed by the project team;• Determine cause of any environmental incident occurrence thru incident investigation and recommend measures to prevent recurrences.

- Responsible for monitoring and evaluation of different environmental conservation projects including: • International Labour and Environmental Standards Application in Pakistan’s SMEs (Donor: EU) • Community water stewardship: Replenishing groundwater resources in Lahore and Multan (Donor: PepsiCo) • Integrated Water Resource Management in the Indus Basin (Donor: Nike)- Conduct monthly and quarterly field monitoring visits to the targeted textile and leather SMEs in Pakistan, and other project sites including but not limited to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Nathiagali, and Khushab; and report to senior management.- Monitor the biological wastewater treatment, water treatment and reuse implementation plan, water sampling plan, parameters, SOPs, etc. and ensure compliance with NEQs.- Develop monitoring tools and work plans for ongoing projects.- Collect monthly planning and progress review sheets from each site, consolidate the data and share with the project management on monthly basis.- Evaluate Capacity Building Training and prepare training evaluation reports.- Maintaining records of project documents and keeping MOVs of achievements. - Collect and consolidate the progress of the project against targets of the work plan and indicators of Logical Framework on agreed frequencies, and maintain databases.- Identify gaps (if any) and make recommendations for improvements in the project’s designing and implementation process.

1) Development of National Gender Data Portal (Milestone-3) Client: UN WomenResponsibilities:- Surveys, data organization, validation, updation and portal testing- Handling database for the National Gender Data Portal (https://ngdp-ncsw.org.pk/)This project aims toward the gender equality, women empowerment and to have a social and legal status of women in the country by identifying the gap available in the effective participation of women in every field, so that, every woman and girl can exercise her human rights and live up to her full potential.2) Baseline Assessment of the Current Scenario of Plastic Waste Management for Rahim Yar Khan CityClient: UNDP and UNILEVER PakistanResponsibilities:- Quantitative and Qualitative data acquisition- Data analysis3) Designing and Construction Supervision of Decentralized Wastewater Treatment System (DWTS) for Saidpur Village, Islamabad Client: WaterAid Pakistan The project aims to design DWTS for 300 Households of Saidpur Village along with the construction supervision. Treated wastewater will be used by CDA for horticulture purposes and will assist in making Saidpur village a model village.4) Working with academia for the development of WASH Technologies Client: WaterAid PakistanDesign and installation of fecal sludge treatment system, research paper writeup in a peer-reviewed journal, and operation & maintenance of laboratory scale setups.

Part of the design expert team on the following projects:• Detailed design and construction supervision of low-cost decentralized wastewater treatment systems for peri-urban areas in Islamabad, Pakistan• Design of integrated resource recovery center (IRRC), Mardan, Pakistan• Design Installation and operation of lab scale fecal sludge treatment unit at IESE, NUST, Pakistan• Investigated (designed and installed an anaerobic membrane-based reactor) and proposed an innovative low-cost sanitation solution for faecal sludge, under a funded project of WaterAid-Pakistan.• Conducted in detail water, wastewater and solid waste laboratory analysis.• Studied the performance of flat sheet woven fiber microfiltration membrane at a lower flux range in high solids concentration during faecal sludge thickening.• Studied the role of EPS and low-cost conditioners, chitosan and charcoal dust in solid-liquid separation of faecal sludge.• Conducted biogas experiment and compared the biogas efficiencies of fresh and thickened faecal sludges.• Co-designer of the Forward Osmosis (FO) membrane bio-reactor for textile wastewater treatment for irrigation purposes

• Organized and conducted HSE-related activities, trainings and preventive programmes to create awareness among employees• Assisted senior staff in sustainability and monitoring and compliance procedures
