• Standing Counsel / Representing the Commission/Department in the Court of law and defending its interests• Advice/opinion related to documents and contracts referred to the Commission/Department• To propose amendments in the Act, rules and regulations of the Commission/ Department• Assisting in drafting laws, rules, regulations/rules of business and contracts• Keep under close review all legislative and regulatory developments that might affect the Commission operations and to ensure that Commission is updated on all decisionsMember of Departmental Selection Committee• To receive complaints / appeals against the Appellate Authorities and to process for obtaining orders of the Commission through Commissioner concerned• To propose penalties and disciplinary action against defaulting Appellate Authorities under the Act, where necessary• To propose penalty on complainant for frivolous complaints / appeals• To act as a primary point of contact for the commission and source of advise / guidance for citizens approaching for denial of public services under the law
