I was Co-Founder and CEO at RoadBotics, a CMU spin-out company. RoadBotics was acquired by the Michelin Group in 2022. I am now CTO of the Michelin Mobility Intelligence division within the Michelin Group. I am incredibly proud to have found such an amazing home for our team and our technology within the Michelin Group!RoadBotics under Michelin continues to help governments around the world to better understand their infrastructure. Using a smartphone app and advance machine learning our technology identifies road surface issues and reports them to governments in on online map. In my career, I have enjoyed matching the right technology to solve real world challenges in deep tech environments. Every venture and education experience I’ve had has revolved around applying AI and machine learning to difficult industries. And on the software side, I have experience in nearly every aspect of a technology firm from servers to mobile apps and everything inbetween. I started my career in the academic realm earning a PhD in Bioengineering focused on machine learning application in medical imaging. My work included applying many different kinds of image and signal processing techniques to biological domains as varied as stem cell therapies as well as non-invasive brain imaging and network characterization. After academia, I joined my first venture backed startup, kWantera, that focused on energy market forecasting and analytics. As I moved from data scientist to Chief Technology Officer, I led the technical team of software engineers and data scientists. We scaled our team and the architecture to be able to compute thousands of pricing forecasts seamlessly on a cloud infrastructure and deliver them on a web-based platform to energy customers. That role and experience ultimately led me to founding RoadBotics.
