Network Operations Engineer
CurrentA team lead for Global-IP with an advanced understanding and troubleshooting / recovery know how, of the Global IP Network Management Center (NMC), supported networks; in a 24 x 7 x 365 NOC.- Cisco ASR 9000, GSR 12000, Catalyst 6509- Juniper MX Series, PTX Series- Tellabs 8860 MSR- ALU/Nokia 7450/7750/7950 routers- Trunk/NNI failures, Hardware Failures, Interface / Hardware Errors, Latency / Packet Loss, Loss of Visibility, Configuration Mismatch Alerts.- Engages appropriate peer teams or support orginizations (internal/external) withdocumented data to support efforts to expedite resolution with IndividualCase Basis(ICB) support from Sr Engineer or Management. Supports peer engineers as needed.- Full understanding of ticket types and priorities - Chronic, Loss of Diversity, Customer Affecting, Priority 0-4. Independently drives issues to resolution via support engagement or escalation processes as needed.- Full understanding of the internal applications and tools: vRepair/ETMS, Sevone / Splunk, Kirke, Jumpservers (Scripts), DTI/CLR/BGW/SNM, COEP/PICS, IMPACT/EVENT MGR, ECHO/GCNS, 1Automation, and Vendor Support Portals (e.g., Cisco/Juniper/Nokia).- Fully understands health of the network KPIs and drives resolution independently to meet the targets (e.g., TROS, LOD).- Provides detailed summary of the problem including applicable commands with results, Plan of Action (POA), as well as accurately recording the detailed event information and resolution cause codes.- Properly follows KIRKE (Break Fix / Maintanance) Processes and ensures they are submitted with proper MOPs within the correct time frame based on ticket type.- Independently leads and supports outage bridges; engages leadership asnecessary and leverages the outage checklist.
