Prepared students for sports journalism and took our inaugural cohort of 16 students to cover the Paris 2024 Olympics.Previously, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, my role was to guide the virtual media production experiences of international students from Sejong University and SookMyung Women’s University in Korea as they reported on the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This experiential learning experience took place online for two years in a row. I managed a cohort of approximately 15 foreign-language students in the remote production of relevant technology videos.During the course, students gain knowledge about the journalism and technology fields via lectures from Reynolds School faculty, reporters from JTBC, The Miilk Inc., JoongAng Daily and other distinguished guests.

Alianza is an association dedicated to creating a collaborative and generative environment that addresses topics relevant to Chicanx, Latinx, Indigenous, and other underrepresented groups in order to advance educational, research, professional development, and diversity initiatives at the University of Nevada, Reno and in our respective communities. ¡Que viva la causa!

For two weeks during Summer 2017, I participated in the International Center for Journalists’ (ICFJ) Digital Path to Entrepreneurship for Latin America program and brought back to the United States many of the lessons I learned while onsite in Honduras. Spoke to students at local colleges and met with newsroom professionals to exchange best practices.
