As a Mentoring Manager, I am responsible for leading a sustainable mentoring scheme for students in our college, matching them to mentors in businesses. Roles and responsibilities include:- Working with students one-to-one providing guidance, advice, feedback, and support- Building sustainable and suitable relationships with businesses, acting as an interface, matching students to volunteers based on the compatibility of skills and aspirations.- Organising mentor training, DBS checks, student safeguarding and ensure regular meetings between students and mentors.

In this position it was my responsibility to support effective and efficient learning, teaching and student progress for students in Key Stage 4 at a South Bank UTC. Roles and responsibilities included: - Raising the standards of all KS4 students within the college- Work closely on personal development, behaviour and welfare to ensure that the educational, emotional and social needs of students, particularly disadvantaged and vulnerable students are met.- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with students, providing mentoring support to targeted students

This role involved elements of pastoral, behaviour and academic support for students who benefitted significantly from the assistance. Roles and responsibilities include: - Being be the first point of contact and liaison between families and other children’s agencies, such as social services or child health.- Developing a relationship with students, which is professional, firm, fair, caring, and friendly.- Providing and participating in a range of enrichment extra-curricular opportunities for pupils.

Faces in Focus is a service for young people aged 11-25 years old. I engage with young people who face a variety of personal challenges in a confidential and safe therapeutic environment. I work with these young people on a long-term basis

- Managing and administering youth and community projects and resources. - Assessing the needs of young people, and planning and delivering programmes related to, e.g. health, fitness, smoking, drugs, relationships, bullying. - Delivering programmes via discussions, arts-based activities, community/environmental projects, residential activities, outdoor education, and sports activities. - Befriending/supporting individual young people in various settings. - Mentoring and counselling individuals to encourage social inclusion. - Acting as members or leaders of staff teams. - Recruiting and training staff, including volunteers. - Undertaking administrative tasks, verifying information and responding to queries. - Meeting, liaising and networking with police, schools, social services, Connexions, Youth Offending - - --- Teams (YOTs) and other agencies to address issues and promote opportunities for young people. - Working with parents and community groups to win support for improved provision and acting as an advocate for young people's interests.

Catch 22 is a service for young people 11 to 18-years old. I have an initial assessment with my clients and then I draw up an individual care plan. This is followed by six sessions of counselling which address any issues the young person may bring.
