In this role, I was responsible for the planning and delivery of Computing lessons to pupils within Key Stages 2 and 3, and coordinating with Key Stage 1 and Early Years teachers to ensure content delivered matches the outcomes of the UK National Curriculum. I was also responsible for overseeing the maintenance and acquisition of infrastructure and hardware utilised by the school, along with budgeting for materials and teaching resources. Whilst at NHP, I have planned and procured the equipment required for a new school wing, the Portobello Green Building, including interactive smartboards in classrooms and workstations for staff. I have also worked to establish a programme for IPad usage amongst KS3 students. These initiatives are supported with efficient technical support, and teacher training.

As STEAM Lab Coordinator, I worked across the entire school populace (ranging from ages 4 – 17) to develop projects that map real-world outcomes to the school’s curriculum. Focusing on the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics, this role involved frequent communication and collaboration between myself and other teaching staff to develop innovative programmes to inspire a wide range of learners.Working in conjunction with MLC School’s Department of IT Pedagogy, this role operated with a high degree of autonomy. On top of maintaining a teaching schedule, I collaborated with other classroom teachers to develop units of work across curricula, maintain and resupply the STEAM Lab’s resources and help run extra-curricular coding and engineering clubs. I also routinely engaged in outreach for the STEAM programme at MLC School, meeting with visiting teachers and parents to discuss my role and how students could benefit from the programme.

In this role I was responsible for the planning, development and delivery of rich public programmes and experiences for the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences' audience.Major Projects included:Sydney Mini Maker Faire (2013-2016)An annual two-day event that was held within Sydney Design (2014) and Sydney Science Festival (2015-16). An anticipated event within the museum's calendar, I was responsible for the planning and delivery of the Mini Maker Faire, coordinating the event between multiple stakeholders both within the Museum’s organisation and the wider community. Young Creators Conference (2016)Introduced as a companion event to the Sydney Mini Maker Faire, the Young Creators Conference showcases the creativity and innovation of primary and secondary students from throughout Sydney. Now in its third year, the Conference is now a major event in education programme for the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences.Working in collaboration with the Education and Digital Learning team, I helped to establish the Young Creators Conference and in its first year, planned the operation of the event on the ground with the Museum's Venue Management and Volunteers departments. The Absence Of... (2015)An edition the Museum's late-night series "MAASive Lates", as I served as curator and lead producer, coordinating and programming showcase emerging and experimental musicians and media artists. This event was featured within the Ideas programme the 2015 Vivid Sydney festival.

Education And Digital Learning

As a Thinkspace Educator, I facilitated and developed workshops in subjects ranging from coding, electronics and game deisgn to media production. These workshops were designed to scale from class sizes of 5 – 60 students, often with minimal to limited prior experience. During this time, I also performed administrative duties including managing bookings for school groups, liaison with other teaching staff and programming. This role has showcased and developed my expertise in a range of audio and video production software, video game design and development, educational coding as well as Arduino-based electronics and Lego robotics. One of the workshop streams I have facilitated and promoted specialises in offering girls-only workshops – recognising the different challenges and opportunities in encouraging girls to engage in this space.

In addition to invigilation of the Museum’s collection, as a Visitor Service Officer I required a depth of knowledge regarding items on display, the Museum’s floor plan and other events taking place on site. It was my responsibility to ensure that visitors and guests’ inquiries could be answered quickly, and always in a courteous and professional manner.

Macquarie University

A joint project between the New South Wales Department of Education and Macquarie University, the MacICT Innovations Centre sought to expand engagement with STEM/STEAM content within Schools. As a Facilitator, I used my expertise in a diverse range of content including game design, electronics and coding, and the maker movement to develop and deliver courses that fulfilled this aim. In developing courses, I had to pitch content to diverse audiences of varying experience, including school students and teachers undergoing professional development. It was also my responsibility to ensure course content matched New South Wales curriculum outcomes for students, along with Board of Studies and Educational Standards requirements for the training of Primary and Secondary teachers.I also collaborated on the production of training materials for teachers, such as "A Teacher’s Guide to the Intel Galileo", a joint project between MacICT and Intel.

At Killarney Heights High School, I worked as a specialist photography teacher to Senior High School students. This role required me to develop programmes of study specifically catering to teenagers aged 16 – 18, of a wide range of skill levels and abilities. I collaborated frequently with other faculty members to ensure that my programmes were matched to curriculum outcomes, and to seek advice on the scope and sequence of my lessons and assessment tasks.As Photography is an elective subject that does not issue a final grade, it was of great importance that the content of my course was not only relevant to the students, but provided those who wished it with an opportunity to dive deeper into the topics and themes discussed.

In this role I was the first point of contact for visitors to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. As a key tourist destination within Sydney, those working on the Information Desk not only required deep knowledge of the galleries permanent collection and temporary exhibitions, but also other similar galleries and events across other cultural institutions within the Sydney area. Additionally, Information Desk Clerks provided administrative assistance to curators and the Gallery’s executive staff, requiring a high a level of professional conduct in performing my duties.

Working within the installation team of the 16th and 17th Biennale of Sydney, I installed and maintained numerous audiovisual artworks on the Bienalle's Cockatoo Island venue. Working to a tight production schedule, this location provided unique challenges due to its status as a heritage-listed site. This required quick thinking to negotiate these logistical challenges, whilst maintaining a level of production quality befitting a major art exhibition.
