One listen to anything that Elijah “LX” Harvey puts his touch on and one thing is clear, he is an artist in the truest sense of the word. Skillful, deliberate, creative, his works are a masterful mingling of vocals, production, and writing that transcends genres and pre-packaged, boxed in styles. It makes sense then that LX stands for Living in X-zile. The German born, Washington D.C. raised artist’s sound is reminiscent of a journey—worldly, introspective, provocative, and cultivated. Since that day he taught himself to play “Silent Night”, at age 5, everyone knew music would serve as the thread that would hold the tapestry of LX’s life, but that it would be at his pace, or not at all. When his parents put him in piano classes to give him the formal education, LX never returned after the second class. Why? The teacher moved too slow for the mercurial LX and he wasn’t interested in the notes and songs that others created before him. As early as middle school he was ready to create his own work. This lead to the formation of Warpath (a rap crew that competed in local talent shows, battles, etc) and the addition of the trumpet, guitar, and bass into his instrument repertoire, minoring in Music Theory at Bowie State, and becoming Music Director for the campus’s radio station, and his first independent album “Eternity: The Rebirth” in 2004. This is when his trajectory in the music industry started to escalate. Legendary radio DJ Ill Will played his single “DC Stand Up” on the radio, he was independently selling units, won the respect of Splif and Ludacris from Def Jam College and started promoting for signed artists. It was also at this time the 2x Nominated DMV Producer Of The Year became sought out as a producer, going on to work with Nappy Roots, Wale, Mya, Bone Thugs N Harmony, etc. This production work only enhanced his solo career. In 2011 “Rockstar Killa” was released featuring some of the best names in music, followed by the 2014 release of “Eternity: Not Of This World” and Rockstar Killa 2 in 2018. All of which he played the instruments on and produced.In 2020, the opportunity to score his first film "Bundles" came to fruition which earned him a position with the Film company, Indigo Republic as music supervisor and Public Relations. He has also scored Collide and has been featured on the Emmy winning series, Succession. In 2022, Elijah "LX" Harvey became also the First Official music producer for the Washington Wizards. He is also a voting member in the DC Chapter Grammy family and often lends his gifts, mentorship and time to the community
